Pen Fatale Event Recap + Giveaway!

This past week I was lucky enough to attend the Pen Fatale signing here in Denver with another YA book blogger, Jen from A Book And A Latte.  The event featured Mary Pearson, Alyson Noel, Jessica Brody, and Gabrielle Zevin talking about their latest books!

All of the authors were so nice and friendly.  They shared a lot about the research involved with their books as well as some of their reasons for writing about their specific topics.  I loved hearing the backstory behind Mary Pearson’s The Adoration Of Jenna Fox and the backstory behind Alyson Noel’s Evermore/Riley Bloom series.  I thought that Jessica Brody was super fun and I was excited to find out that she is a local author! Gabrielle Zevin shared a lot about why she chose to write such strong female characters and I already love her for that even though I haven’t read the book.

There were also a ton of great people in the audience.  It was a packed signing and everyone was so enthusiastic about the books and authors.  I had a great time talking to both the employees from the Tattered Cover bookstore and some of the audience members.  Jen and I hung around for about an hour after the actual signing, just chatting with audience members and the authors.

  1. SOOOOO jealous! The Tattered Cover is my favorite bookstore in the world, and I loved going to author events there when I was in college. Sounds like you guys had a lot of fun!

    Smiles!

  2. Alyson Noel is an awesome writer! Love her new series with Native American mythology and paranormal. Gabrielle Zevin is supposed to write wonderfully poignant characters.

    Lovely event! 🙂
