Black City by Elizabeth Richards Cover Reveal + Giveaway!

Today I not only have a gorgeous cover to share with you guys but also a great giveaway!

First, check out more about the book and the author, Elizabeth Richards

A dark and tender postapocalyptic love story set in the aftermath of a bloody war.

In a city where humans and Darklings are now separated by a high wall and tensions between the two races still simmer after a terrible war, sixteen-year-olds Ash Fisher, a half-blood Darkling, and Natalie Buchanan, a human and the daughter of the Emissary, meet and do the unthinkable—they fall in love. Bonded by a mysterious connection, that causes Ash’s long dormant heart to beat, Ash and Natalie first deny and then struggle to fight their forbidden feelings for each other, knowing if they’re caught they’ll be executed—but their feelings are too strong. When Ash and Natalie then find themselves at the center of a deadly conspiracy that threatens to pull the humans and Darklings back into war, they must make hard choices that could result in both their deaths.

  1. I think the cover is GORGEOUS and I’m really surprised I haven’t heard of this book considering, y’know, I live in England and the writer is British!! Definitely interested though as forbidden romance? YES PLEASE. This book has my name written all over it (figuratively speaking of course). Thanks for the giveaway! 🙂

  2. Love the cover. It’s different and I like that. I like covers that are simple but they make simple look good. I also like how the flower is bursiting.

  3. I _love_ the cover! So beautiful and eye-catching. I am not sure if the story line is my kind of story, but I believe I’ll give it a chance. So excited to see what everyone else thinks of it, too 🙂

    Thanks for another great giveaway!

  4. It’s a little busy for my liking…but I’ve warmed up to it. I really like the colors and the simplicity of the title!

Thanks for the post and giveaway.

  5. Personally, I’m really amazed by this cover. For once it’s not the same old pretty girl in a pretty dress kind of deal. I love the colors, the dynamics, and the energy bursting from this cover! It’s wicked awesome. So is the blurb – and the drawings!!! I am dying to read this one, thanks for hosting this wonderful giveaway 🙂

  6. Even though Ash can NEVER be as good as my fairy Ash, I still lurve me some post-apocalyptic. Thanks so much!
And, wow, that cover is amazing. It’s like, a shattering rose, or something…

  7. It’s AWESOME! I’ve seen the shattered effect more recently, however, this cover is different and striking. I can’t wait to read it.

  8. This cover is gorgeous ! I really like the bursting of colors in the front and of the red especially considering that it is a book about vampires. Also, the city’s outline we see in the background has been appearing on the cover of a lot of dystopian novels theses days but it works in this case. Given the summary it makes sense !

  9. i am in love with this cover! i love everything about it, especially what to me seems like the flower is shattering over the city : ) i cannot wait to read it!! thanks for the giveaway : )

  10. OMGGGG THE COVER IS GORGEOUS <3 I LOVE the scattering of petals :DD Plus, it’s so refreshing to see a cover that DOES NOT have a girl with a beautiful dress :S (Not that I don’t like them, just that it’s unoriginal )
AND THAT CHAPTER! Urghh I NEED MOREEEE!!! It was so intense, and I was completely sucked into the story. I’m sure I’ll love this <3

  11. I loove the cover. It’s so pretty. It reminds me of the cover of New Moon but this is so much better. Thanks for the great giveaway and for making it international.

  12. I love the colors of this cover, as well as the city in the backround, and the whole exploding rose is pretty awesome. The story sounds spectacular and I must give props to the author for the fantastic drawing. I can’t wait to read this book!

  13. The cover is beautiful, for me the shattered rose represents how everything they knew about life was lost, the beauty of the time, and all the wonderfulness of love! I need to have a cooopy!! Thanks for the giveaway! (ileana on Rafflecopter)

  14. I simply love the cover. I like the contrast between edgy (with the explosion of petals) and soft (with the roses). It matches with the synopsis, which is really fantastic.

  15. I love the cover! but the flower reminds me of New Moon cover? though I think it’s complete different…

  16. I both like and don’t like the cover…the colours really pop and draw my attention, and it has a great mysterious feel. It makes me want to know what the book is about. But at the same time…it’s just a rose blowing up.

I don’t know…my first instinct is to like it, but when I actually consider it, I find that I am not as crazy about it. Lol.

  17. The cover is flawlessly beautiful!! For a moment I was wondering what was that and realized that it is a rose. It would be one of the books I’ll definitely buy and read!! And thank you for the giveaway!

  18. Whaou, an international giveaway for a book that seems great.
But I can’t say if I like or no the cover. I didn’t understand it was a rose at the first glance XD

  19. I like it >.<
Makes me wonder if there’s a real meaning to the rose…though it reminded me of another book cover.
    I do like it!!

  20. Gosh, I am in LOVE with the cover. It’s stunning yet somehow heartbreaking. Ack, now I’m dying to read this, lol. Thanks for the giveaway, Katie!

  21. I love this cover. It definitely sticks out from any other ya book cover out there. Anyway, I’m totally excited for this one! Thanks for the giveaway!

  22. OH. Also. The cover is really neat XD I love roses and the exploding thing is epic. I also like how it’s not over complicated. I like simple covers like this.

  23. oooh I was your 2300th follower.. yay!!
The cover is gorgeous.. I really like it. I’ve heard great things about the book. Thanks for the giveaway!

  24. Best cover I’ve seen in such a long while! Finally, it’s gown-free, and still so delicate and beautiful (and symbolic?) I love it, and I really hope I can get to read it soon!

  25. I didn’t know she’s such an awesome artist! Her drawing is beautiful 🙂 Very manga!

I wonder if she’ll do a graphic novel based on her novels 🙂
