Blogger Interview: Amanda from The Vintage Bookworm!

Today I have the lovely Amanda from The Vintage Bookworm!  Her blog is super cute and she has this fun feature called TBR Intervention.  Clearly, this is a girl that understands me.

What are you like outside of blogging?

I can’t really describe how I am outside of blogging. I’m trying to think of a good answer to this, but I can’t. Other than blogging and reading, I’m an aspiring YA author. I love to cook and bake and watch my favorite TV series. I love to spend time with my husband and 9-month-old son. Probably pretty boring, ha!

What book changed your life?

I can’t really think of ONE book that has changed my life. I think every book I read changes something about my life. Every book I read, especially the ones that make it to my favorites, tend to leave some sort of mark behind.

What made you decide to start your blog?

Well, I’ve been blogging on and off for a couple of years now. I started my first serious book review blog in 2008 after finding the book blogging community. First I just had a random blog with a picture of a cover and what I thought of the book. But after I saw the community and how many people there were out there blogging about their love for reading, I was hooked. So the couple of bumps in the road I’ve had have never kept me down. I came back this time needing a change so I created a whole new blog called The Vintage Bookworm. =)

What blogs/bloggers inspire you?

Wow, another hard question. This is hard to answer. There are so many awesome blogs/bloggers that inspire me. I’ll try to name a few though off the top of my head, sorry if I leave anyone off. There are just so many.

Kristi from The Story Siren, Ashley from What’s Your Story?, Christy from The Reader Bee, Eleni from La Femme Readers, Lauren from 365 Days of Reading, Melissa from Book Nerd Reviews, Nicole from Word for Teens, and so many more. In no particular order. There are just so many amazing bloggers and blogs out there! And, of course, your blog. Who doesn’t love yours? =) AND your vlogs!

What are your goals for your blog in the future?

I hope to expand in the future and gain more readers and author and publisher interactions. I hope it can even come up to a ¼ of what all the blogs I named has done.

Do you love or hate your mailman?

Um, sometimes I love the mail lady when she brings me books, but a lately I’ve had a lot of issues with my mail so right now I kind of don’t like her. Also, she sometimes just crams a package that obviously shouldn’t be able to fit into our mailbox in there and stuff gets beat up.

Favorites:

-Book of all time:  Really? You should of learned by now that people like us can’t just make a list of these. 😛 It’s just too hard of a question. But a few off the top of my head is: Harry Potter series, Vampire Academy series, Summer Trilogy, by Jenny Han. The Hunger Games Trilogy, Nightshade trilogy, Curseworkers series, by Holly Black, The Demon Trapper’s Daughter & Soul Thief, by Jana Oliver. Anna and the French Kiss, Timeless, by Alexandra Monir, and seriously, so much more.

-New release:  I can’t really think of a new release I’ve read recently right now.

-Genre:  Very hard! But I guess I’ll have to say Paranormal Romance.

-Place to Read:  Somewhere comfy!

-TV show:  Currently my top ones are: Gossip Girl, Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars, The Lying Game and The Secret Circle. Those are the ones I’m currently watching. I also really like Terra Nova, but it’s on Hiatus right now and The Secret Life of the American Teenager and True Blood.

-Candy:  I don’t eat much candy, but I guess it will have to be Reese’s or Snickers for Chocolate and Starbursts or Sour Patch Kids for fruity.

-Drink:  Coke, Dr. Pepper (Original or Cherry) and Mountain Dew

  1. I love reading these interviews, it’s so nice getting to know the blogger behind the book blog! This is actually the first time I have heard of The Vintage Bookworm so this interview was especially awesome cause it introduced me to another fabulous blog!

  2. My mailman crams stuff in the box too! It’s so annoying. Plus, though we live literally across the street from a post office, we don’t end up getting our mail until around 3 or 4. Blarg.

  3. Love what she said about every book changing part of her life.

    That’s so true!

And her life isn’t boring, it’s filled with joy 😉

    Lovely interview 🙂
