Today I have an interview with the two lovely “chicks” behind the blog Two Chicks On Books!
What are you like outside of blogging?
Jaime– Pretty mellow. I love to watch sports and cook and of course read.
Patricia– I’m actually lead a very hectic life. Lol. Not anything exciting either but lots of running around with my husband and our three kids. I also love to read of course and I volunteer quite a bit.
What book changed your life?
Jaime- Honestly? I’d have to say Twilight because it brought me back into reading after a long hiatus and because of that I started blogging. Another is Interview with the Vampire because it introduced me to the world of the paranormal which is my favorite.
Patricia- Life changing? Well, I don’t know that there is one single book that has been life changing but there are many books that have affected me. Harry Potter was a huge one. I honestly think that that this series in particular has brought my family closer together.
What made you decide to start your blog?
Jaime- I had seen a lot of bloggers on twitter and loved their reviews and I thought I could do that I read like crazy anyways.
Patricia- I’d never really considered it until Jaime approached me about it but I have to honestly say that I am really enjoying the experience of it and hope to continue to do it for a long time to come.
What blogs/bloggers inspire you?
Jaime- Rachel from Fiktshun she’s simply amazing! She has 5 blogs I have no idea how she does it. Pam from Bookalicious she’s one of the most helpful peeps and a good friend. Mindy from Magical Urban Fantasy Reads she pushes me to read stuff I normally wouldn’t.
Patricia- There’s so many great blogs out there but I think that my biggest inspiration is Rachel from Fiktshun. She’s ah-may-zee-ing! She has multiple blogs centered on books and they are all a joy to read. I also really love Mindy’s blog (Magical Urban Fantasy Reads) I love her new layout and I love her honest opinion on all her reviews. She does really cute vlogs, too. Kristina from Kristina’s World of Books does some cool features on her blog such a book/photography that I really enjoy.
What are your goals for your blog in the future?
Jaime– Pretty much the same keep reviewing, keep reading, and have fun with it!
Patricia- To keep having fun with the blog but also to just keep enjoying what we are doing.
What is your best book blogging moment?
Jaime– Probably going to RT last year I got to meet some bloggers I had gotten close with and some really amazing authors! Richelle Mead even used a picture of us from my blog post on her blog.
Patricia- I was totally stoked when Cassandra Clare posted a link to my review of Clockwork Prince on her tumbler and we got a gazillion hits. That was wicked. Also, being a blogger I’ve discovered that there are many aspects to the book world having met some awesome authors whether that’s in person or on twitter has been very cool.
-Book of all time
Jaime- Pride and Prejudice, The Vampire Diaries (series), and The Witching Hour.
Patricia– Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban, Mrs, Frisby and the Rats of NIHM, The Notebook
Jaime- It’s not quite out yet but Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins I’m like completely obsessed with that book.
Patricia– I have two that I completely obsessing over: Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi and The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa (comes out in May 2012)
Jaime- Don’t have just one but I love Paranormal, Dystopian, Sci-Fi, and Fantasy all YA of course.
Patricia– Paranormal (YA or Adult), Fantasy, Dystopian (I used to not care for but there have been a couple of books that totally changed my mind, such as Divergent by Veronica Roth)
-Place to Read
Jaime- My comfy chair in the living room or if it’s a nice day out by my pool.
Patricia- Usually on my couch or in bed at nighttime, but I can really read anywhere including my car or out on the porch.
Jaime- Arg too many lol The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, Warehouse 13, Sanctuary, Merlin, Grey’s Anatomy, Psych, The Big Bang Theory, and Spartacus to name a few.

Jaime– Nerds, twizzlers, or caramel tootsie pops.
Patricia- Hershey’s with almonds, jolly ranchers and those little Cadbury egg that you can only find at Easter time. The ones with the hard shell.
Jaime- I really love unsweetened iced tea I’m not much of a soda drinker. I also love coffee and beer.
Patricia- I love coffee on a cold, wintery day but most of the time I’m sipping on slightly sweetened tea or flavored water.
