Books By Their Covers is a new feature here on Katie’s Book Blog. It is created by me and it is a chance for me to share my love of book covers. In this feature, I will pick one book cover and give you guys my opinion of it.
My opinion: I love this cover. I think it is spooky and dark and will definitely catch your eye from the bookshelf. The font is rather plain and in this case it’s a good thing. It doesn’t detract from the trees and the girl who is clearly running from something. I think this cover is really unique and I would like to see more like it in the future.
Love this cover! I kind of like pictures of naked trees to begin with, though. So, I’m biased.
Interesting concept! I definitely think this is a very pretty cover. Pretty but a tad haunting.

Like you, when I look at this cover, I get an eerie vibe. That’s both a good and a bad thing, though. Sometimes I tend to gravitate towards eerie books, and sometimes I tend to be a wuss and do my best to avoid them. It depends on my mood and the type of day I’m having… Maybe that’s just me, but I’m just one of those girls that can’t deal with creepy. That’s why the fact that this girl may possibly be running for her life worries me. While I think the cover totally gets the point across, I don’t know if I, personally, would be compelled to pluck it off a bookshelf. Either way, I find the cover to be a creepy form of beautiful that is definitely eye-catching.
I loved how the font kind of hides between the trees. Like the letters are running, just like her.
