Blogger Interview: Marie from Marie Loves Books!

Today I have an interview with the awesome Marie from Marie Loves Books!

What are you like outside of blogging?

Outside of blogging my life isn’t too interesting; my internship with Walt Disney World ended (need advice on a trip? Feel free to ask me!) so I’m back in school and studying! I do like play video games, watch TV shows on Hulu, craft and I do a few other hobby blogs (like food!!) when I have free time. Oh and find time to acknowledge my husband lol.

What book changed your life?

I would have to say The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks because after reading that I read pretty much all of his books that were out at the time. I’ve always been a reader but it wasn’t until then that I had books to look forward to reading that were without pictures lol.

Also I would have to say Twilight by Stephanie Meyer because it’s what got me into YA. After finishing the series I bought Wicked Lovely and Evermore and even though I didn’t read them until two years later, YA really caught my attention after Twilight so yay for that!

What made you decide to start your blog?

My husband had left for Airforce basic training in 2009 at the time and I had bought the first 3 books in the Sweep series and the only person I had to talk to about books was my sister in law but she wasn’t reading the series. I had all these thoughts and I wanted to talk to someone! I stumbled on someone’s book blog (I want to say Bookworming in the 21st Century) and I had NO IDEA people blogged about books! At the time I was running a beauty/makeup blog so I started a book blog with my sister in law, but she was always busy so I ended up just starting my own and it’s been a fantastic journey so far!

What blogs/bloggers inspire you?

Omgosh, so many people!

Katie, you inspire me probably the most because you read super fast and your blog is always so organized! And I totally remember coming to your blog A LOT when I first started out!

Priscilla from The Readables, I love the way she reviews books and how her vlogs reflect her personality!

Cialina from Muggle-Born, her layouts are always so pretty and her features are always so interesting!

Lisa from BoundByBooks, Michelle from BooksandMakeup, Becky from Stories and Sweeties, Savannah from Books with Bite, Rochelle from Books Like Stars… like seriously, so many people!

What are your goals for your blog in the future?

I don’t really know, to be honest I don’t really have any. Honestly I’m pretty content with with how it is now, just reviewing books and movies and stuff. I just wish I had more people to talk to 😛 I want to start doing discussion posts!

What is your best book blogging moment?

Best blogging moment would have to be meeting Melissa Marr (seriously I was so star struck, my husband was trying to get me to ask for a bookmark but I kept chickening out so he went up to her and was like “yo, Melissa Marr, can I get a bookmark?” I was like OMGGG but I was pretty darn happy) and meeting Stephanie Perkins! And she knew who I was! OMG!

That counts right? lol

  1. That is so awesome that you were able to get an internship at Disney! I heard that it is nearly impossible to get those and even harder to keep them because Disney is such a strict company. Congratulations on such an accomplishment! A childhood friend of mine just got one and I am hoping he enjoys it as much as you seem to have enjoyed yours!

  2. I love this interview, it’s full of awesome! Off to check out her blog, which I’m sure I will adore. Thanks for introducing us 🙂

  3. I love how most blogs are created because people crave connections with others!!
