Blogger Interview: Rebecca from Rebecca’s Book Blog!

Today I have the fantastic Rebecca from Rebecca’s Book Blog! I go to her for pretty much all my historical recommendations.

What are you like outside of blogging?

I’m a lot more social as a blogger. Outside of blogging I’m pretty shy and not that social. I’d rather be home with a book or watching a DVD.

What made you decide to start your blog?

An author saw my Amazon review of her book and loved it and emailed me to ask me if I had ever thought of having my own blog. So I decided to try it, and realized I loved blogging!

What is your best book blogging moment?

The first year I went to BEA as a blogger and met other bloggers and wrote about it on my blog was probably my favorite.

To help some of the newer bloggers: what have you found to be the best way to network and get your blog out there?

Memes, challenges, and blog tours were all things that helped me when my blog was new. Also I use Twitter a lot to chat with other bloggers and share posts.

What book turned you on to YA?

I think the first YA author I read was Ann Rinaldi, who has written a lot of YA historical fiction. I started reading her books when I was around 9 or 10 and I’ve loved YA ever since!

How many books do you own?

Too many to count! Probably a couple thousand? I’m not sure if I even want to know.

What are some blogs you recommend reading?

YA Bliss (I love her YA historical fiction challenge), Ticket to Anywhere, and Bloggers Heart Books are some blogs I read a lot.

Favorites:

-Book of all time: My childhood favorite was Little House on the Prairie, but as an adult there’s so many books I love equally that it’s impossible to choose!

-New release: Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers (I think that’s new enough, it was out in April)

-Genre: historical fiction

-Place to Read: in bed

-TV show: Game of Thrones

-Candy: Dark chocolate kit kats – they are amazing (but hard to find)

-Song: this changes all the time, but lately I’ve been listening to Drive By by Train a lot – it’s catchy!

  1. What an awesome blog beginning! Haha, I would feel special is an author specifically asked me if I ever though about blogging:) But no, I just started because I wanted to have people to talk about books with. 🙂

  2. I too love Game of Thrones.

And I agree with her, when you’re shy it’s easier to be sociable online.

    Lovely interview 🙂
