Short Story Saturday: Sing A Song Of Sixpence

Short Story Saturday was created by Lauren at 365 Days of Reading.  I can’t guarantee that I’ll post a review every Saturday but I will post one as often as I can!

I am currently reading Two And Twenty Dark Tales: Dark Retellings of Mother Goose Rhymes.

book cover of Two And Twenty Dark TalesShort Story: Sing A Song Of Sixpence
Author: Sarwat Chadda
Anthology: Two And Twenty Dark Tales

Summary: Sing A Song Of Sixpence is a modern day retelling of the Mother Goose nursery rhyme with the same name.
My thoughts: I was a big fan of Sarwat Chadda’s writing from his debut novel but I’m even more enthralled now. Sing A Song Of Sixpence is a dark and twisted tale. The story itself was fascinating but add in Sarwat Chadda’s lush, descriptive writing and it takes it to a whole new level. I found myself wishing the story was longer and I will definitely be seeking out more of Sarwat Chadda’s books.
I highly recommend this short story! You will be just as amazed as I was!

  1. Didn’t know anything about this author, but if you were so enthralled by his short story he must rock 🙂
