  1. That’s a hard pick! Probably The Hunger Games for favorite book of 2009. Funny thing, it’s also the ONLY book my boyfriend read in 2009. LOL

and my fav book of the year…

    That’s tough…

I read Twilight this year – the series, and I say it’s often my fav. since it got me back into reading – which is AMAZING – but there are soo many I REALLY enjoyed – the Maze Runner, even the one I am reading now Impossible is amazingly good!

It’s soo hard to choose, often I think the “best book I ever read” is the one I just finished! Am I totally nuts?

I read constantly and there were soooo many good books from 2009. I think my favorite was Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer. Even though Stephanie’s books were created as Young Adult fiction they are excellent and “Breaking Dawn” was easily my favorite.

  14. Wow! Awesome list of books, thank you for the giveaway!
My favorite book I’ve read this year is Julie and Julia, I was surprised by all the swearing and irreverence in a good way, and it made me laugh a lot, which I needed!

  15. Thank you for doing such a great giveaway of books! I haven’t gotten a chance to read any that are on the list yet. They would be a wonderful addition to any library.

I really enjoyed the first two books of The Missing Series by Margaret Peterson Haddix: Found and Sent. It is difficult to chose which I like best. I would have to say Found. It was a great first book to a new series. I hate waiting for the next book in a new series so I typically don’t begin a series until all books are published but I am glad I started this one.

It’s hard to pick a favorite book for 2009. There were four authors that really stood out for me; I would drop all other books to read theirs as soon as they release a book. Devon Monk, Ilona Andrews, Suzanne McLeod and Lilith Saintcrow. Their books are urban fantasy – Devon Monk’s are Magic in the Blood, Magic to the Bone and Magic in the Shadows. Ilona Andrews’ books are the Kate Daniels series (Magic Bites, Magic Strikes, Magic Burns). Suzanne McLeod has two books out so far, The Sweet Scent of Blood and the Cold Kiss of Death. and Last but not least is Lilith Saintcrow who has written two (so far) YA books called Strange Angels and Betrayals under the name Lili St.Crow.

  26. I’m loving reading everyone else’s responses. So many people have listed great books that I forgot about!

I’d have to say my favorite book of 2009 was Little Brother by Cory Doctorow with my whirlwind read of all the Percy Jackson books coming in as a close second. And the last book in The Luxe series, Splendor. It’s really hard to pick just one!

  29. What a crazy-awesome contest! You are my new best friend.

I think my favorite book of 2009 (other than Hunger Games – that’s a given!) was The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness. I read it in about 2 days and, at one point, was reading it at the laundrymat when I got to a really sad part. I sat at the laundrymat and actually cried. Everyone probably thought I was psycho. Then I got my mother, brother, best friend, and several co-workers to read it. I’m a bit addicted. =) But my mom may be more. The author lives in the UK, so it is published there first. When the second one came out in the UK, my mom ordered it online so she could have it before anyone else here. Sneaky!!
