This is a totally random post but I really want to know about some bloggers who are planning on going to BEA this May. I want to go this year but I have to convince my parents and any information about it would be helpful. People who went last year, I would love info from you guys!

I am always looking for book conventions in my area, but I can never find any! So far, Comic Con is the closet thing to me (I’m in Cali). I take it BEA is only taking place in New York?

Me and Kate (The Neverending Shelf) are going to BEA this year. Its going to be so much fun and I can’t wait. I don’t really have any info for you because this is my first year too.
I went last year and i’m going again this year. It was one of the best times I have ever had. It is not to be missed.
*Chuckles* You guys complain about California being “left out” with book expos, etc? Heck, try living in Utah– NOTHING BOOK RELATED HAPPENS HERE! (Okay, maybe the occasion author coming to sign books, but that’s about it, and even then it’s usually up in our capital, Salt Lake, which is about 100 miles from me…)
Sorry, just wanted to point out that California probably has more book related opportunities that happen around the state then you’d think– and I can guarantee there’s more going on there than here in my home state. 😉
Anyway, I can’t really give you any advice Katie, sorry. Never been to BEA, and I doubt I’ll be heading there anytime soon, though I’d love to! I hope, if you go, you have a good time though!
