I have no idea where to begin with this list. There are a ton of books being released in 2011 that I am dying to read. Here are the top 11. They are in no particular order of how badly I want them.
(links go to Goodreads)
#1-What Happened To Goodbye by Sarah Dessen-I love Sarah Dessen. I think every teenage girl should read at least one of her books. I don’t expect this one to be any less amazing than her other books.
#2-The Iron Queen (Iron Fey #3) by Julie Kagawa-This is one of my new favorite series. Julie Kagawa is an amazing new author. I can’t wait to see what happens in the new book.
#3-Forever (Wolves Of Mercy Falls #3) by Maggie Stiefvater-Shiver was one of my favorite books of 2009 and Linger was close to being on the list for 2010. Hopefully this final book in the trilogy will make it on 2011 top books list.
#4-City Of Fallen Angels (Mortal Instruments #4) by Cassandra Clare-Do I need to say anything at all about this one? =]
#5-Clockwork Prince (Infernal Devices #2) by Cassandra Clare-I loved Clockwork Angel. I am so excited for the next book. I want more romance in the next one though.
#6-So Much Closer by Susane Colasanti-Susane Colasanti is another one of my favorite authors. I read her first book When It Happens and I was immediately in love. I think this one will be another great romance from her.
#7-Love Story by Jennifer Echols-Jennifer Echols is an amazing contemporary author. Her romances are some of the steamiest I have ever read for teens and I have loved both of them so far. This one is set in NYC at a university so I am excited to read it.
#8-The Gathering (Darkness Rising #1) by Kelley Armstrong-The Darkest Powers trilogy was awesome and I have heard that she has mixed in pieces from that series into this one. I can’t wait to see how it is.
#9-The Locket by Stacey Jay-I loved Stacey Jay’s Megan Berry books and until the next one of those, this one will have to hold me over. I have heard some very good things about it so I am excited to read it.
#10-Betrayal (Haunting Emma #2) by Lee Nichols-Deception was an awesome, eerie book and I am excited to read the sequel. I hope it’s just as creepy as the first.
#11-The Hidden (The Hollow #3) by Jessica Verday-I didn’t really love The Hollow but I did enjoy The Haunted. It was a cliffhanger ending so I really want to know what happens next and how the trilogy is going to end.
What books are you looking forward to in the new year?
I’m looking forward to The Hunted too, the cover is especially gorgeous!!
I’m also looking forward to Steel by Carrie Vaughn (I would kill to get an ARC in my hands!!) and Choker by Elizabeth Woods 😉 There are more, but I can’t think of any right now!
Oh! And The Circle of Fire by Michelle Zink 😉
Woops, I meant The Hidden not Hunted :O
These are some fantastic picks, Katie! There are so many in your list that I, too, want to read. Also I’m very excited for The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong. I love Kelly’s Darkest Powers series. I have yet to read the third book. Great list, Katie =D.
