Breathless Reads Tour – Denver Recap

The Breathless Reads Tour kicked off earlier this week and I was lucky enough to get the chance to attend one of the stops.  The authors in attendance were Kirsten Miller (The Eternal Ones), Brenna Yovanoff (The Replacement), Andrea Cremer (Nightshade), Ally Condie (Matched), and Beth Revis (Across The Universe).

The Tattered Cover had a great setup and all the people there were completely awesome.  I arrived quite a bit early and just kind of hung out.  Luckily I was not the only one with the idea and I met some other booklovers that were just as excited about the event as I was.  The place was packed and as soon as the authors showed up, the event began.
Here are some highlights from the Q&A:
If your book was made into a movie, who would you cast?:
Andrea:  Chace Crawford as Shay, Ben Barnes as Ren, and nobody has stood out yet for Calla
Kirsten:  Emma Stone as Haven, James Franco or Ed Westwick as Adam
Brenna: Ellen Page as Tate, Allison Lohman as Emma, and a young Alex Pettyfer as Mackie
Which male character would you like to date (other than your own)?:
Ally:  Mackie (The Replacement)
Andrea:  Ian (The Eternal Ones)
Kirsten:  Ky (Matched)
Beth:  Ren (Nightshade) (and definitely not Mackie)
Brenna:  Ren (Nightshade) (Ky was second choice)

What would you be doing if you weren’t a writer?

Beth:  Teacher
Brenna:  Editor
Ally:  Teaching high school and coaching cross country

What are the titles of your next books and when are they going to be released?:
Beth:  A Million Suns (2012)
Brenna:  The Space Between (Fall 2011)
Kirsten:  All You Desire (August 2011)
Andrea:  Wolfsbane (July 2011) and Bloodrose (March 2012)
Ally:  Crossed (November 2011)
Ally, Kirsten, Me, Beth, Brenna, and Andrea
Some fellow booklovers, Becca Fitzpatrick, and Me
There were more pictures but for some reason my camera was not working properly and they turned out all blurry.  You can see more pictures on the Facebook page for the tour though if you are interested.
Also, this week I will be posting giveaways for a couple signed books from the event and a signed poster so be on the lookout for that.
Did anybody else get the chance to go to one of the events and if so, what did you think?  =]

  1. It was a really great event. I loved that the panel answered moderated questions, and then opened it up to the audience. The questions were interesting and fun.

(I took that last photo. >:D So glad it wasn’t blurry.)
