She has dark flashbacks in the middle of practice, can’t concentrate in class, and has terrifying dreams about Lissa. But Rose has an even bigger secret . . . .She’s in love with Dimitri. And this time, it’s way more than a crush.

Then Strigoi target the academy in the deadliest attack in Moroi history, and Dimitri is taken. Rose must protect Lissa at all costs, but keeping her best friend safe could mean losing Dimitri forever.…

Ahh!  That is really how it ends? Sorry guys no review.  I have to go read the next book.  Just kidding.  =)

So I may not be in love with the Vampire Academy series like so many people out there but I am currently obsessed with them.  The story is very gripping and in the case of this third book, heartbreaking at times.  These characters have stolen my heart!

Rose is as badass as ever but she has some new problems in this book in the form of mental issues.  She is seeing things and she has random spurts of rage where all she wants to do is terrorize people.  It was actually comical at times.  Dimitri played a bigger role in this book and I liked seeing the other side of him.  I did still enjoy seeing more of Adrian.  I am definitely Team Dimitri though.  Adrian doesn’t stand a chance.

The plot in this book was very fast-paced and addicting.  The Strigoi are definitely back and worse than ever but I won’t give anything else away.  I kind of saw the ending coming but I still really enjoyed the book.

Overall, Shadow Kiss is another great addition to the series.  I’m hooked and I’m sure other first time readers will be too.

First line:  His fingertips slid along my back, applying barely any pressure, yet sending shock waves over my flesh.

  1. This is a wonderful book. I loved this one, and the implication of being shadow kissed and everything Rose faces (and the romantic scene with Dimitri!!).
