The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi-pure-bloods-have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals-well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures.Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden.Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.

Wow!  Half-Blood is the book that would be produced if the Vampire Academy series and the Percy Jackson series had a baby!  It was a mix of all my favorite elements: fighting, romance, and Greek gods!  I might have to add this to my favorites list!

Half-Blood is one of those books that starts with a bang.  From the very first line to the very last, this book was full of action.  It never slowed down!  There were also lots of surprises in Half-Blood.  So many things that happened, I never saw coming.  I love a book that keeps me guessing and Half-Blood definitely did that.

The characters really made this book though.  The plot was great and fast-paced but the characters were what made me want to keep reading.  I felt connected to each and every character and I was very interested in their stories.  Alex was just like a regular teenage girl as far as emotions, boys, and fitting in.  She was so easy to relate to.  I felt for her and I wanted to see her get a happy ending.  It was the same with Caleb, Deacon, Olivia, Aiden, Seth, and even Mia.  Each character was so different and had such unique personalities that I couldn’t get enough of them.  Aiden and Seth were some of my favorites though.  Aiden was sweet, sensitive, and kind of bad ass.  Seth was rude at times, cocky, and a total bad ass.  What can I say? I like the good and bad boys.

Overall, Half-Blood is a fantastic novel that I recommend checking out.  I can’t wait for more!
