Title: Shadow And Bone
Author: Leigh Bardugo
Release date: June 5, 2012
Surrounded by enemies, the once-great nation of Ravka has been torn in two by the Shadow Fold, a swath of near-impenetrable darkness crawling with monsters who feast on human flesh. Now its fate may rest on the shoulders of one unlikely refugee.
Alina Starkov has never been good at anything. But when her regiment is attacked on the Fold and her best friend is brutally injured, Alina reveals a dormant power that saves his life– a power that could be the key to setting her war-ravaged country free. Wrenched from everything she knows, Alina is whisked away to the royal court to be trained as a member of the Grisha, the magical elite led by the mysterious Darkling.
Yet nothing in this lavish world is what it seems. With darkness looming and an entire kingdom depending on her untamed power, Alina will have to confront the secrets of the Grisha… and the secrets of her heart.
Does anyone else think of The Night Circus when looking at this cover? That cover just immediately popped into my head when I saw this. I do love it though. So unique and stunning!
What do you guys think?
I think I’m in love with the cover lol. It’s definitely my favourite 2012 debut cover for sure! I love everything about it! And a blurb by Veronica Roth? Hell yes please! =)
Woah! What an awesome cover. I love the font used and the small towers at the bottom of the cover. It looks excellent! Thanks for sharing!

I knew the cover reminded me of a different one, but could not remember what! It definitely has a similar feel to The Night Circus, but I still think it’s gorgeous!:)
Hey Katie! Great Books! As soon as I read the synopsis for Ten, I immediately thought of And Then There Were None! That was a great book, though, so I’m super excited to read this one!

The cover DOES look like The Night Circus! I think I’m liking these types of covers. The synopsis seems interesting too!
Didn’t think of Erin Morgenstern’s book but I immediately got the Russian vibe, which is great 🙂
