Even angels make mistakes in this page-turning epic romance…
When her parents are murdered before her eyes, sixteen-year-old Helen Cartwright finds herself launched into an underground London where a mysterious organization called the Dictata controls the balance of good and evil. Helen learns that she is one of three remaining angelic descendants charged with protecting the world’s past, present, and future. Unbeknownst to her, she has been trained her whole life to accept this responsibility. Now, as she finds herself torn between the angelic brothers protecting her and the devastatingly handsome childhood friend who wants to destroy her, she must prepare to be brave, to be hunted, and above all to be strong, because temptation will be hard to resist, even for an angel.
A Temptation Of Angels will please both fans of angel stories and fans of Michelle Zink’s first trilogy, Prophecy Of The Sisters. This is no traditional angel story and readers will be pleasantly surprised by the unique history of these angels!
A Temptation Of Angels is set in historical London. The exact time period is not mentioned but it’s not necessary. The feel of the setting is what matters and it is fabulous. The speech, the dress, the appropriate behavior of women; it all transports you back to that time. It was one of the best parts of the book.
Another fabulous thing about the book was Helen. She was scared, alone, and grieving but she pulled through. She teamed up with the Channing brothers and went looking for the one responsible for her parents deaths. She was not fragile and weak. She was brave, strong, and resilient. She also had some great new allies. Darius and Griffin Channing were there to help show her the ways of being a Keeper. Darius was sarcastic and sometimes rude but he was a good guy at heart. Griffin was a total sweetheart although there were a few glimpses of a darker side. There were also Anna and Galizur. Anna was another girl who didn’t let the restrictions of her gender stop her from doing what she could to help the Keepers. She was a bit more fragile than Helen but still very brave and capable. Galizur, Anna’s father, was quirky, eccentric, and totally lovable. He was a bit of a mad scientist with all of his crazy inventions. There was quite a cast of characters in A Temptation Of Angels and it’s definitely one readers will love.
The plot started off strong, faded a little in the middle, and the picked right back up. Helen is thrust into a strange world of angels and demons and a plot that puts her and her new friends in grave danger. The mystery of who is behind it all keeps readers enthralled but after that is revealed things slowed down a bit. However things picked right back up and it didn’t slow enough to draw me away from the book.
Overall, Michelle Zink has a way with historical fantasy and I have high hopes for a sequel. Definitely check this one out!

I am so glad you ended up loving this book since I was pushing you to read it!:P And I would also love a sequel; I feel like there is so much that would happen after this book ended that I’d love to read about!
I really enjoyed this one as well. I liked Helen and the brothers though so very different were endearing in their own ways. I loved the setting as well, it was definitely one of the things that sucked me into the story. I am hoping for a sequel as well because I think there were quite a few things that could be expanded on. Great review 🙂

Ooh I have not heard too much about this book so far. I have seen the cover pop up a few places but that’s it. I have been on an angel kick lately so I def want to check this one out nthanks for the review.
Love it when the main character is a girl who knows how to be brave even if she’s not physically strong. She seems determined to do what she needs to and she still is in touch with her feelings.
The guys sound great 🙂
Lovely review 🙂
