Book Blogger Appreciation!

Over on Totally Booksessed, the Youtube channel that I am a part of, we had the idea to do book blogger appreciation vlogs.  I’m not sure how many of you guys watch that channel so I wanted to do a similar thing here.

Angela from Reading Angel!   Angela is my book blogging twin!  She is seriously amazing.  Whenever I’m in a crazy bad mood, she lets me rant.  Whenever I’m sad, she cheers me up.  And when I’m on a book buying ban she buys me books.  I kid you not.  She also doesn’t really help my book buying bans because she’s always telling me about awesome books I need to read.  But still, that’s what friend are for, right?  Angela is one of my closest blogger friends and I am so glad that our blogs brought us together.

Harmony from Harmony’s Radiant Reads!  Now, Harmony totally thought I was a stalker when I met her last year at BEA.  I’m pretty sure I seriously freaked her out.  Yet she still hung out with me and later asked me to be part of the Totally Booksessed Youtube channel that she created.  She is funny, kind, and such an awesome person.  I’m glad my stalkerish ways let me meet her.  =)

Lauren from 365 Days Of Reading!  I also met Lauren last year at BEA and while we didn’t hang out a ton there, we did at ALA this past January.  I loved getting to know Lauren more and finding out that we had a lot in common.  She’s a great blogger and an even better person.  I can’t wait to hang out with her a lot more at ALA.

Emily from Emily’s Reading Room!  I’m pretty sure I scare Emily.  I’m a little crazy sometimes and Emily is much calmer.  Yet she still puts up with me.  She is kind, honest, funny, and someone I love chatting with.  I’m glad I got the chance to meet her at BEA last year and I look forward to hanging out with her again this year.  (If she will put up with me. Lol.)

Every blogger I have ever had the pleasure of meeting in person or talking to online.  I really only feel like myself when I’m around other book lovers.   My blog has given me so many opportunities to meet wonderful new people and I don’t think I would have been brave enough to talk to them without it.  I know my fellow bloggers understand me and I don’t have to worry about what anyone thinks of me.  Blogging has changed me so much and my blogger friends are a huge part of that.

So there you go.  Blogging may sometimes feel like too much but whenever I think about quitting I think about these awesome people that I have met and consider who I might miss out on meeting if I give up.  Blogging is a lot of hard work but there are so many perks.  I consider blogging friends the best perk and this is my chance to tell them how awesome they are!

  1. 😀 You are so sweet. I’m sad we didn’t get to hang more this year, but I guess that’s how it goes. But, I’ll be in Denver in less than a month!

  2. I love this idea! Book Bloggers are too often un-sung heros in this author’s opinion and deserve so much more than sheer thanks. Although we’ve never met, Katie, and I’m new to what y’all do, I’ve come to truly appreciate the immense amount of hard work and dedication you all have in doing what you do, and I hope to get to know you and your colleagues better in the coming days and months. So, this is me saying a big, fat thanks to all the Book Bloggers out there and wishing you all the best in whatever the future has in store for you!
Take care and have a fantastic weekend!

  3. That is so sweet! I agree. You feel more like yourself around other book bloggers. My real life friends couldn’t care less about what books I’m reading or talking about. But you guys do, and it makes doing what we do even more worth it. You are all doing a great job and I look up to each and every one of you. 🙂

  4. This is such a nice post! I love that you took the time to talk about how great blogging is! I am a fellow Colorado book blogger 🙂 and it is so much fun to read so many interesting things about people who love to read as much as I do! Have a great day!

  5. I love how bloggers have created a supportive community for each other and authors. I wouldn’t know about any new books or authors without bloggers, I mean releases are not really advertised in many places and you certainly don’t get the awesome reviews bloggers write anywhere else.

Yeah, there are some crappy and drama-filled things happening in the blogging world, but it’s like that anywhere.
