Book Haul is a weekly feature here on Katie’s Book Blog. It is not something I created and I take no credit for it. Anyone who wants to participate can and you don’t necessarily have to call it a book haul. It is a list of what books you have received over the previous week, either for review, from the library, from the bookstore, or from trades.
For review:
–Cuttlefish by Dave Freer
–Deity (Covenant #3) by Jennifer L. Armentrout
–The Forsaken (The Forsaken #1) by Lisa M. Stasse
–This Is Not A Drill by Beck McDowell
Nice books! The Forsaken is really good once it gets going – it has a wonderful twist that took me completely by surprise (which rarely happens)! Agreed about the spine, too 🙂
Hope you enjoy everything, Katie!

I’ve heard some great things about the forsaken as well but haven’t read it yet. As you were talking, i kept glancing back at your bookshelf… how… in the world… do you read so much!?! lol if i had that many books i would pull them all down and just swim in it… okay probably not, but still… lol i’d be happy 🙂 Great haul!

Huh, I’ve only heard of The Forsaken. That one looks really great though! Have a great week in books Katie! 🙂
I am DYING to read Deity. I can’t wait to see what you think of it. JLA is one of my favorite authors! I’ve already read The Forsaken. While the plot was really interesting, I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would because I couldn’t connect with the characters. The plot and world-building was full of detail, but the emotions weren’t. Either way, I would still describe it as a cross between The Hunger Games, Lord of The Flies, and the tv show Lost. Stasse said a huge part of her inspiration was the tv show Lost anyway.
Interesting books this week. I haven’t read any of the Armentrout books yet. The Forsaken sounds amazing. Happy Reading!
The Forsaken has been buzzing around the blogsphere for a few weeks now. Must read it and eager to believe the hype!

The Forsaken looks really interesting, as does This is Not a Drill. I’ve read Half-Blood but have yet to read further in the series, though I really enjoyed it. Enjoy your haul!
