Evie finally has the normal life she’s always longed for. But she’s shocked to discover that being ordinary can be...kind of boring. Just when Evie starts to long for her days at the International Paranormal Containment Agency, she’s given a chance to work for them again. Desperate for a break from all the normalcy, she agrees.

But as one disastrous mission leads to another, Evie starts to wonder if she made the right choice. And when Evie’s faerie ex-boyfriend Reth appears with devastating revelations about her past, she discovers that there’s a battle brewing between the faerie courts that could throw the whole supernatural world into chaos. The prize in question? Evie herself.

So much for normal.

Kiersten White’s sophomore novel, the sequel to the fabulous Paranormalcy, does not disappoint.  It’s just as laugh-out-loud funny as the first and there are even more crazy paranormal creatures!

Evie is probably one of the best main characters that I have ever had the pleasure to read about.  She’s a strong heroine who knows how to take care of herself.  However she is more than happy to have some help. It’s pretty clear when Evie can’t win a battle on her own so sometimes she needs reinforcements.  And let me tell you, I would love to have her reinforcements.  Jack is a new character in this book and he is just as hilarious as Evie.  He’s joyful and rambunctious and so dang cute!  Then there is Reth.  Not always the best guy but he does provide great protection.  And don’t let me forget Lend.  Oh, who am I kidding?  No one can forget Lend.  He’s sweet, loving, protective, and pretty much the best boyfriend ever.

Things really haven’t changed much since the first book.  Evie’s always getting into trouble, the faeries want here (dead or alive), and she is still clueless about what she really is.  However things don’t stay that way for long.  Sure she still gets into trouble and the faeries still want her dead but she learns quite a bit about her true parentage.  Supernaturally is full of revelations; about Evie, about other characters, and about what is really going on with IPCA and the paranormal world.

Overall, Supernaturally is a must-read for fans of Paranormalcy.  If you haven’t pick this one up yet, do it now.  Readers are in for a fun (and sometimes terrifying) time with Evie!

  1. I’m actually in the process of reading my paperback copy of Paranormalcy. When I say that, I mean I only started it like 30 minutes before I saw this post so I’m only 2 chapters in, but it’s really interesting thus far. You’re definitely helping me to decide to continue the series. I can already tell I’ll love it without even being a quarter into the first book. I can’t wait to get my hands on this one to continue the series!

  2. So glad to hear this is a worthy sequel! I just read Paranormalcy and can’t wait to continue with this series. Thanks for this review!

  3. Evie sounds totally likable and super fun! I like that she’s strong but also knows to accept help 🙂
