Yes you read that title right. Today I am interviewing myself. I have had some people ask what my answers would be to my blogger interview questions so here they are!
What are you like outside of blogging?
Outside of blogging I am a really shy person. I have the hardest time talking to people I don’t know and I tend to stick to myself. I go to school, I go to work, I hang out at the mall, but most things I do by myself. I’m a pretty big loner and I hope to change that eventually but for now I’m happy with how I am.
What made you decide to start your blog?
My senior year of high school was a very tough year for me. I had very few friends and the friends I did have didn’t want to hear me ramble on about books. I spent quite a bit of time on the computer back then (still do today) and one day I just happened to come across a YA book blog. When I found out the blogger was my age I started wondering how she got into blogging. After emailing a few different bloggers and finding out how to set up a blog I started Katie’s Book Blog. It took a while for me to really get into blogging but it was definitely a fun experience learning how to do everything.
What is your best book blogging moment?
My best book blogging moment would have to be my first ever BEA (Book Expo America.) BEA 2011 was my first chance to meet a bunch of the bloggers, publishers, and authors that I interact with online. All the book events were a blast and it was so amazing when publishers/authors recognized my blog. I’m pretty sure I never stopped smiling the whole week of BEA.
To help some of the newer bloggers: what have you found to be the best way to network and get your blog out there?
Twitter is the best resource for bloggers. I set my posts to automatically tweet a link and that’s honestly how most people find my posts. It’s also a great way to interact with publishers, authors, and other bloggers. It’s an easy way to talk to people and it’s a great way to find out what’s going on in the blogosphere.
What book turned you on to YA?
I wasn’t turned on to YA by a specific book but rather by a specific author: Sarah Dessen. I don’t remember what the first Sarah Dessen book I read was but after I read all of her books that were published at the time I immediately went in search of more authors like her and I stumbled upon the world of YA books.
How many books do you own?
This is a ridiculous number but I own over 2,000 books. Now this also includes picture books from my childhood as well as some books that I share with my mom but most of them are YA books.
What are some blogs you recommend reading?
I highly recommend reading 365 Days Of Reading, Harmony’s Radiant Reads (especially her Pretty Little Liars recaps), Reading Angel, Willa’s Ramblings, and Emily’s Reading Room.
Favorites:
-Book of all time: Harry Potter series
-New release: Pushing The Limits by Katie McGarry
-Genre: Contemporary
-Place to Read: My bed.
-TV show: The Vampire Diaries, Awkward., Two Broke Girls, Game Of Thrones, Once Upon A Time, True Blood, and lots more
-Candy: Gummi bears
-Song: Gold On The Ceiling by The Black Keys
Hello! I just found out your blog and is absolutely amazing 😀 would you like to check out mine? http://mafaldasbooks.blogspot.pt/ I just created so it would mean a lot if you could go check it out!
That’s cool that you interviewed yourself:) It’s hard to believe you’re quiet in real life since you’re so talkative and popular online, but I’m the same way. I can @ message a person I’ve never talked to before on twitter, but it can be harder for me to talk to a person in school that I don’t know very well. I try to channel my online self sometimes:) haha.
Nice interview Katie! I wish i can go to BEA! LOL! It seems like such a fun experience!! Actually i remember that Meg Cabot made me fall in love with books! then i read Sarah Dessen, but i still prefer meg! and wow 2,000 books! lucky you! haha! Great post!

Love this Katie!
I just stumbled up your blog a couple of weeks ago, so this is great to find out stuff about you!
Sarah Dessen is one of my favorite authors, and actually what turned me on to YA too. I read The Truth About Forever for my high school book club, and from there I was hooked. I can’t wait until next May when her newest one comes out.
Thanks for sharing about yourself!
AWKWARD <3 this show is AMAZING

It’s great to learn more about the people behind the blog!
I am a lot like you, where I am incredibly shy in person and a bit of a loner. I am a bit better online but that is something I am working on, especially with my blog 🙂
And I LOVE Once Upon a Time! All of the commercials for the new season have me so excited!
Thank you for sharing with us! 🙂

Nice interview! 🙂
I’m kind of a loner, too … I’m very shy and awkward around people, but try my best. I’m a work in progress!
I need to read some Sarah Dessen! I hear so many amazing things about her books!
2,000 books! You’re giving me a run for my money … I think I have upwards of 1,000 or so in my collection. 🙂
Thanks for sharing!
Great interview, Katie! I agree with you…best book ever: Harry Potter series!
I would hate to think how many books I have. I’ve got all my childhood books still.
Thank you for sharing.
I am the same way in person, I am sh but, having my blog has definitely made me a little bit more outgoing. Loved your answers!
Kristin @ Young Adult Book Haven
I absolutely ADORE Sarah Dessen. She was one of the first contemporary authors I read and I fell in love!
Great interview Katie, wow I am surprised u said u r shy etc, you seem so confident and talkative- your blog and YouTube, I mean wow. I am 27 and I thought you were older, I am in awe of you for what you have here with the blog n YouTube, I am not brave enough to do YouTube! X I also share the same answers for the first four hehe.
I have never read a Sarah Dessen book but I have heard great stuff so I am going to av to buy a book xxx
You own over 2000 books?! Where on earth do you store them all?
I too had few friends in high school and I think we only were friends because we were all the odd ones out, not out of shared interests. Totally get where you’re coming from!
You should interview yourself again!
