The first pictures from the set of City of Bones have been popping up all over the place.  I was a bit skeptical about Jamie as Jace but after seeing this picture I can kind of start to see it.  For more news about The Mortal Instruments movie check out the new official Facebook page here!  You can also stay updated with the TMI Source Twitter.

Publishing News:

Soho Teen, a new young adult imprint from Soho Press, is coming in 2013.  It’s clear to see that Soho Press is very excited about joining the YA community and they have some amazing looking books coming out. For excerpts and more information check out their website, as well as their Twitter and Facebook!

Noteworthy blog posts:

NPR recently polled readers on the top 100 young adult books of all time.  I’m not sure I agree with the complete list but there are definitely some of my favorites on it.  Check it out here!

Looking for some movies to check out this fall?  Book Riot recently posted their top 12 book to movie picks for this fall.  The list obviously mentions Breaking Dawn Part 2 but there were some others on the list that I hadn’t heard of.  Check it out here!

  1. This is such a helpful post, Katie! I think it’d be awesome if you did more, even though it seems like you spent lots of time working on this.

There are some seriously awesome e-book deals going on! I just bought Storm, and am really looking forward to reading it.

I’m not fond of Jace in the TMI movie, it’s not what I imagined him as. But I do really like Clary and Simon!!

Thanks for doing this Katie! I really hope that you continue on with this feature. =)

  2. Nice job Katie!! Reallllyy liking this!! Keeping me updated on all bookish news! I really love it! Though I still don’t like Jamie as Jace, he looks like a girl and im really not liking that! and LOVELY covers! Thanks for sharing!

  3. This is such useful post! Keep doing these posts because they are really awesome! I’m really excited for the Mortal Instruments, but I was never a really huge fan of Jamie, but I can start seeing the resemblance!

  4. I love this! You should definitely do more News for Nerds, as long as you have time. It looks like you put in a lot of effort on this post, so thanks:)

  5. This is a really great post ! You should keep doing that kind of posts =)
I love the covers for Spies and Prejudice and Tides. They are sooo pretty !

  6. Gahahaahah I didn’t know they were making a City of Bones movie 🙂 So excited now! I also heard from a friend that they are making a movie (possibly) of Divergent in 2015. So happy that good books are being turned into hopefully good movies! Sierra
    Keep growing beautiful!

  7. I really don’t like the actor they have for Jace … honestly, when I saw pictures of him and the actress playing Clary together before filming, I thought it was TWO GIRLS. I don’t know … I expected a more manly Jace.

This is a great post! I’ve already opened up a few of your links and can’t wait to read them. I’ve already read ALL the Parajunkee posts and loved them … they were quite informative!

    Keep this up! 🙂

  8. Yes! Deffinettly keep this up. I love seeing what books are new and loved… Super cool. From cover reveals, based on the cover, I would buy The Rules, Tides, and Conjure.

  9. News for Nerds – I really love this! Great compilation of bookish news items 🙂
Yeah, I really, really, really don’t see Jamie as Jace! 😛 I’m not a fan at all. Oh well! I don’t like Lily Collins as Clary either. I just saw them both totally different. *shrugs*

  10. Wow, Katie! This post looks like it took a lot of time to create, but it’s so informative and helpful! 🙂 I was a bit skeptical about Jamie playing Jace as well, but I guess I’m used to it now. I’m not that excited for the movie, for some reason. I don’t know. I guess I’m just burned out of YA book-to-movie adaptations. Sigh. And wow, so many gorgeous covers! Thanks so much for this awesome post, Katie, and I’ll be looking forward to more of them. <3 🙂

  11. Storm was a great beginning to a series, but I preferred the sequels! LOVE those boys! Hope Brigid Kemmerer’s last book in the series blows us away with its awesomeness 🙂
