BBAW: Book Blogging And Me!

Day 3:  What does book blogging mean to you?

Book blogging means so much to me.  I know that blogging is just a hobby of mine.  It’s not something I get paid to do and it’s not something a lot of people understand about me.  I’m a part time student, have a full time job, and yet I still keep up my blog.

Blogging, to me, means love.  I get to do the thing I love the most; read!  And then I get to do the other thing I love the most; talk about the books I read!  Nobody judges me for what I have to say, they just agree or disagree.  Nobody looks at me like I’m insane and tells me to stop talking.  This is my own little corner of the world and it looks pretty perfect to me.

Blogging, to me, also means friendship.  I don’t have an easy time making friends.  I’m not an outgoing person and while I don’t mind talking to people, I’m not usually brave enough to strike up a conversation and make lasting connections.  Being behind a computer screen has changed that for me.  Sure, I still don’t have a ton of real life friends but I do have some awesome online ones.  There are so many people online that I chat with all the time and while I may not see them but once or twice a year (or never) they mean as much to me as my real life friends do.  They help me out of my funks, they listen to me rant when I’m upset, and they sometimes send me books.  Now those are true friends.  =)

Seriously, I could go on for pages about what blogging means to me but I’ll stop now.  All I know is that blogging is a huge part of my life now and I don’t know where I would be without it.

So, what does book blogging mean to you?
