Noteworthy articles/blog posts:

According to a new study, 55% of young adult books are bought by adults for adults.  For some reason this doesn’t come as much of a shock to me.  The study classifies people 18 and over as adults so I’m one of those adults that buys YA and I’m sure a lot of you guys are too.  It’s a very interesting article and you can check it out here

Word For Teens has an amazing guest post from Sean Ferrell on characterization, specifically about Neville Longbottom from the Harry Potter books.  Reading this post will cause you to see Neville in a completely different light and really think deeper about the characters you are reading about.  Check out the post here

  1. That Carnival of Souls things sounds ridiculous. There are so many books with the exact same names – movies with the same names as books (but totally unrelated). The guy sounds like he’s trying to get people to notice him?!

    1. I liked The Mary Quinn books, I’ve read the first two (both shown above on the left and then middle, the one on the right is the third book) and they were really good! A mystery, a good deal of excitement and romance on the side 😀 Sierra
      Keep growing beautiful!

  2. It’s interesting how Simon Pulse is doing that with the really popular indie titles. I’m curious as to how they decide which to pick up, and what their business projections for them might be like.

Good deal on the Mary Quinn books! Totally love those ones, but I want to get them in hard copy. I did pick up the Shannon Hale last week or so, since I couldn’t resist 99 cents.

  3. Hope everyone keeps buying YA books forever because that means they’ll keep publishing more of them!

Wonder how that trend continued later on.
