Blog Tour: The Eternity Cure Movie Casting + Giveaway!

You guys have no idea how excited I am to be part of The Eternity Cure blog tour for Julie Kagawa.  I’ve been a huge fan of Julie’s books since the beginning and this trilogy has quickly become my favorite of hers.  The idea behind the blog tour (of team human vs. team vampire) is so clever and I’m happy to announce that I am part of Team Vampire!  As part of this lovely team, I was asked to choose my ideal casting for Kanin, Sarren, and Jackal!

Kanin is one of my favorite characters in The Immortal Rules and The Eternity Cure.  Sure, he’s not always the most friendly guy but he’s there for Allie when she needs him and he’s just pretty bad ass.  Jonathan Rhys Meyers isn’t an exact match for how I would picture Kanin but he’s close.  Give him some dark contacts, make him a little paler, and I could definitely see it.

Readers don’t learn a whole lot about Sarren in The Immortal Rules but he comes back with a vengeance in The Eternity Cure.  Looks wise, Robert Carlyle isn’t perfect but seeing him as Rumpelstiltskin in Once Upon A Time has made me love him and I can see him pulling off Sarren perfectly.  I think he has that crazy edge that would make him an awesome Sarren.

Jackal was a really difficult pick for me.  He’s crazy, that’s for sure, but I’ve also always pictured him as someone attractive.  Cillian Murphy has played a fabulous villain in the past (Red Eye, Batman Begins, In Time) so I think he would be a wonderful fit for Jackal.

To survive in a ruined world, she must embrace the darkness…

Allison Sekemoto survives in the Fringe, the outermost circle of a walled-in city. By day, she and her crew scavenge for food. By night, any one of them could be eaten. Some days, all that drives Allie is her hatred of them—the vampires who keep humans as blood cattle. Until the night Allie herself dies and becomes one of the monsters.

Forced to flee her city, Allie must pass for human as she joins a ragged group of pilgrims seeking a legend—a place that might have a cure for the disease that killed off most of civilization and created the rabids, the bloodthirsty creatures who threaten human and vampire alike. And soon Allie will have to decide what–andwho–is worth dying for…again.

How do you face the end of eternity?

In Allison Sekemoto’s world, there is one rule left: Blood calls to blood.

She has done the unthinkable: died so that she might continue to live. Cast out of Eden and separated from the boy she dared to love, Allie will follow the call of blood to save her creator, Kanin, from the psychotic vampire Sarren. But when the trail leads to Allie’s birthplace in New Covington, what Allie finds there will change the world forever-and possibly end human and vampire existence.

About the author:

Julie Kagawa was born in Sacramento, California. But nothing exciting really happened to her there. So, at the age of nine she and her family moved to Hawaii, which she soon discovered was inhabited by large carnivorous insects, colonies of house geckos and frequent hurricanes. She spent much of her time in the ocean, when she wasn’t getting chased out of it by reef sharks, jellyfish and the odd eel.

To pay the rent, Julie worked in different bookstores over the years, but discovered the managers frowned upon her reading the books she was supposed to be shelving. So she turned to her other passion: training animals. She worked as a professional dog trainer for several years, dodging Chihuahua bites and overly enthusiastic Labradors, until her first book sold and she stopped training to write full-time.

Julie now lives in Louisville, Kentucky, where the frequency of shark attacks are at an all-time low. She lives with her husband, two obnoxious cats, one Australian shepherd who is too smart for his own good and the latest addition, a hyperactive Papillon puppy.

  1. I’m thinking I’m Team Vampire 🙂 I’m actually reading The Immortal Rules right now, I’m almost done. I’m really excited about the sequel!! I didn’t know they were making a movie out of TIR, but the actors seem to match up pretty well 🙂 Great giveaway!

  2. I LOVED The Immortal Rules and The Eternity Cure! I loved Zeke and Kanin. That is a great choice for Kanin. I am excited to see him in the City of Bones movie. Jackal is a bit crazy but I also picture him attractive. Sometimes I like him and others I hate him. He was complicated in The Eternity Cure but I loved it. He kept me guessing. Sarren is truly crazy though!

  3. I think I would be for Team Vampire mostly because Kanin is my favorite character, and I sure did not imagine him to look like that. But given some time I can see it. So excited to read the Eternity Cure when it comes out!

  4. gaaah that’s a bit hard! I think I wanna be Team vampire, but one of the good vamps you know? Like Allison! lol! Thanks for the fantastic giveaway!!

  5. ERMAHGERD, I’m in the middle of devouring (not literally, that’d be sacrilegious) The Immortal Rules, and am absolutely loving it! Honestly, it depends. There’s some good guys and some creeps on either side, so I’m going to settle for both.

  6. Team human I think. Although vampires are pretty cool, these ones are just creepy! I’m glad that there’s finally a book that makes them look scary and not just sparkly, but I’m hoping that the humans will survive!
