Stacking the Shelves (18)

Stacking The Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews! It is a list of what books you have received over the previous week, either for review, from the library, from the bookstore, or from trades.

I know I said I wasn’t going to be doing these posts anymore but I’ve had some people request them and I figured I might as well start up again.  This post will include books I’ve received since my last post which was early March.  There are quite a few books.

Tempest Revealed (Tempest #3) by Tracy Deebs – I don’t normally like mermaid stories but I have really enjoyed the Tempest trilogy so I can’t wait to finish it.

On Little Wings by Regina Sirois – I haven’t heard anything about this one so far but the summary and cover really caught my attention.

Boy Nobody by Allen Zadoff – A Little, Brown rep spoke with me about this one back at ALA MW and I’ve been dying to check it out ever since.

Walking Disaster (Beautiful #2) by Jamie McGuire – Yeah this one wasn’t so good for me.  Review will be up very soon!

True by Erin McCarthy – This is a New Adult book that I really enjoyed.  My review will be up closer to the release date.

Art Girls Are Easy by Julie Klausner – Once again, I haven’t heard anything about this one but isn’t that title enough to draw you guys in?

The Originals by Cat Patrick – I adore Cat Patrick’s books so I can’t wait to get the chance to start this one.

Thousand Words by Jennifer Brown – Woo hoo!  I’ve been dying to read this book for a while now and let me tell you guys, it was worth the wait.  Review to be posted soon!

The Planet Thieves by Dan Krokos – I really enjoyed Dan Krokos’ debut novel, False Memory, and while this one is different and a MG, I think it looks very awesome.

If He Had Been With Me by Laura Nowlin – Contemporary novel with a gorgeous cover?  Count me in.  I’m reading this one soon!

Some Quiet Place by Kelsey Sutton – This book has one of the most gorgeous covers ever.  To be completely honest, that’s why I requested it.  Can’t wait to check out what’s inside the covers!

Find Me by Romily Bernard – This one sounds really creepy and totally awesome.  Also, it’s a Harper title so I’m pretty sure I’ll love it.

The Bitter Kingdom (Fire & Thorns #3) by Rae Carson – I admit, I haven’t actually read The Girl of Fire and Thorns yet!  Don’t hate me!  I now have all three so one of these weekends I’m just going to sit and read them all.

The Burning Sky by Sherry Thomas – This is the start of a new fantasy trilogy and I’m all over it.  I don’t know much about this one but I’ll be sure to let you guys know how it is when I get around to it.

The Chaos of Stars by Kiersten White – Mythology and Kiersten White.  I’m sold.

The Program by Suzanne Young – I did a happy dance when I saw this one posted on Edelweiss.  I’m such a huge fan of Suzanne Young’s books and let me just tell you, this one is just as fabulous as the rest!

The Brokenhearted by Amelia Kahaney – This one was pitched as The Dark Knight meets Cinder.  What more could you ask for?

The Vow by Jessica Martinez – I’ve heard fabulous things about Jessica Martinez’s books so I figured it’s time I check one out.

Just Like Fate by Suzanne Young and Cat Patrick – See above where I mention my love of Cat Patrick and Suzanne Young.

Chantress by Amy Butler Greenfield – I’m a cover whore and I admit it.  This is what I get because of my cover whoring ways.

A Stranger Thing (The Ever-Expanding Universe #2) by Martin Leicht and Isla Neal – I didn’t expect much from the first book in this series, Mothership, and it actually ended up being one of my favorite books of 2012.  I can’t wait to see what happens in this sequel.

Monsters (Ashes #3) by Ilsa J. Bick – (No cover yet!) Holy crap you guys.  This book is huge.  However, I know it’s going to be worth it because this is one of my favorite trilogies and I can’t wait to see how it all ends.

The Kissing Booth by Beth Reekles – I’m not sure what to expect from this one.  It’s one of those books that was originally published on Wattpad and picked up by a traditional publisher.  I’ve heard pretty good things about it though so I’ll give it a shot.

When You Were Here by Daisy Whitney – This is another contemporary title that I’m beyond excited about.  I’ve heard amazing things about When You Were Here.  I’ve got my tissues ready and I’ll be reading this one soon!

Rules of Summer by Joanna Philbin – This looks like the perfect read for laying out by the pool.  I just love these kind of summer-y books.

I know I might have gotten some more books over the past two months but I honestly can’t remember right now and this post is long enough as it is.  If I missed any, you’ll see them pop up on the blog in the future when I review them.

So, what do you guys think?  Have you read any of the above mentioned books?  Also, what books have you gotten recently?

  2. So many great books! I want to read a fair few of these books. I love the cover for Some Quiet Place too. I heard some people say it was a good book as well. I love when that happens.

  3. Such a great array of books! There are some I am thinking of reading. I can’t wait to see your review for True, I have heard some great things about it!

  4. I read Walking Disaster not too long ago. I didn’t love it either, but at the same time I had a hard time putting it down. I felt the same way with Beautiful Disaster. I mean, the characters are crazy!

  5. The Originals was so awesome! I LOVE Cat Patrick’s scifi novels because they also read like contemporaries, like it’s not all about the science, it’s mostly about the characters it happens to.

Have you read Revived? It was so good – a contemporary and a thriller all in one 🙂
