We’re now over halfway through the 15 day book blogger challenge hosted by April of Good Books and Good Wine! I hope you guys have learned a little more about me already and I hope you learn more before the end of this challenge!
Day 9: Why do you blog about books?
To be honest, I didn’t really know there were blogs about other things when I first started my blog. I love fashion and technology so maybe I’d start blogs about those things but really, books have always been my passion. I don’t think I would have stuck with another type of blog as long as I’ve stuck with this one. Reading has always been a favorite pastime of mine and I don’t ever see that changing. I love that my blog allows me to share that love with other people just like me. Sure I love the perks (getting to read books early is always fun) but that is totally not why I blog about books. I blog about books because it’s what I love and I’ve kept up this blog because I can’t see myself leaving this community.
Why do you blog about books?
I think the longer you blog about books, the more you realize that a “free” book isn’t all that free. There comes the expectation of reviewing and promoting the title.
I never thought I’d see the day when I tell people “no, not interested in a FREE book” but it happens all the time now.
I love my techy stuff too but I don’t think I have enough knowledge of technology to have a blog on it, and I certainly wouldn’t have stuck with it as long as book blogging 😀 I love this community. I initially started with a personal blog but before you know it, I realised that most of my posts were about books so I changed it as a book blog.
Reading has always been my main hobby so it makes sense that it’d be the only thing I’d be willing to spend so much time writing about.
I think of you bloggers like a virtual moderator of a giant book club, and we all chime in 🙂
