Title: Prisoner of Night and Fog
Author: Anne Blankman
Release date: April 22, 2014
Obey. Smile when Hitler comes closer. And never, never question him.
These are the three rules in seventeen-year-old Nazi Gretchen Müller’s life. They’ve kept her safe since Papa died, protecting old family friend Adolf Hitler during a street fight years ago. Until the night in 1931 when Gretchen meets a young, fearless Jewish reporter she’s supposed to despise. But she can’t stop herself from listening to his story — that her father, the adored martyr, was actually murdered. Together, Gretchen and the reporter vow to do whatever it takes to uncover the truth. Even if it means breaking all of Hitler’s rules. Especially the most important one of all: don’t fall in love with the enemy…
I adore this cover and I’m so eager to read Prisoner of Night and Fog. It sounds so unique and amazing.
What are you waiting on this Wednesday?
This does sound like an amazing book! Thank you for sharing it.
I’m waiting on the next book in Tonya Kappes’ Magical Cures series. She’s working on it now!
This sounds amazing. Great pick this week!
This really sounds amazing. I actually would have never guess from the title and cover that it was going to be historical fiction. Great pick, Katie!
Love the cover on this book! So eye catching. And the actual story sounds good too
This sounds right up my alley; young adult historical fiction, that includes Hitler and a Jew.
LOVE how this is a historical that doesn’t feature someone who already hates the Nazis but someone who slowly realizes who they really are. It’s a wonderful twist on the usual WWII stories, and I love how the girl thinks of Hitler as someone she trusts – it will be cool to see how she realizes the horror of what he believes.
