This December I am once again hosting some of my favorite bloggers here on Katie’s Book Blog. I asked them to pick a few of their favorite books from 2013 and their one most anticipated book of 2014.
Today I have Montana from The Book Belles!
Best Debut Novel
Pivot Point by Kasie West
I loved how most of the characters had superpowers, something that was super cool. I couldn’t put this book down and I loved the romance, too. There pretty much wasn’t anything I didn’t like about this book. I’ve heard Split Second is even better, too!
Best Start of Series
Two Lies and a Spy by Kat Carlton
With the end of the Gallagher Girls series, I was looking for a new spy series. Two Lies and a Spy was really fun and I’m curious to see where the series will go from here, especially with the ending it had. I laughed so much while reading it and it was a fast read.
Best Series Finale
Boundless (Unearthly #3) by Cynthia Hand
The Unearthly series is one of the first young adult book series I’ve ever read. I picked up Unearthly after reading an amazing review for it on another blog, and I started my own blog pretty soon after 🙂 Boundless was everything I hoped it would be!
Best Standalone
This Song Will Save Your Life by Leila Sales
I loved the message in this book and how hopeful it was. It’s a book that will definitely stay with me for a while.
Best Unexpected Favorite
Night School by C. J. Daugherty
I picked this without reading any reviews when I stumbled across it in a bookstore. I almost never do that, but I’m so glad I did! The mystery is awesome and I love the boarding school setting.
Best All Around
Unravel Me (Shatter Me #2) by Tahereh Mafi
I really enjoyed Shatter Me, but I was hesitant to pick up Unravel Me. I’m so glad I finally did because Unravel Me was even better than the first and the writing in it was so beautiful. Unravel Me also placed me firmly on Team Warner 😉
Most Anticipated 2014 Release!
What I Thought Was True by Huntley Fitzpatrick
This was so hard for me to choose, but What I Thought Was True sounds amazing! My Life Next Door is one of my all time favorites, and I’m so happy Huntley has another book coming out, especially with that gorgeous cover 😉
What do you guys think of Jamie’s choices? Do you agree with any of them? Are there any you’ve been meaning to read?
Make sure to check back tomorrow for the next blogger’s picks!
Unravel Me was soo amazing. I’m still on the fence with Warner and Adam, but I’m definitely leaning more towards the Warner side of things lately!
I still need to read This Song Will Save Your Life, it looks really great (and clearly it is!). Oh, and after My Life Next Door, I’m super excited for anything Huntley Fitzpatrick writes!
Thanks for sharing, I have a lot to add to my TBR!!
I definitely agree with Pivot Point being the best debut!! It was amazing 🙂
I also loved Unravel Me – I’m Team Warner too – which I was really surprised about. I didn’t think I would be and thought all the bookworms talking about being Team Warner were nuts until I read the book haha
This Song Will Save Your Life has been on every single best of 2013 post! That is nuts, I’ve never even heard of it. So excited to read it haha
Night School does look good!
This Song Will Save Your Life was so good! And I just read Pivot Point. I’ll have to check out Night School for sure
I LOVE The Book Belles! It’s an awesome blog, with lots of wonderful reviews 🙂
I TOTALLY agree with Boundless – it was a wonderful end to a series, and i know some people said it was a cop out because both boys have a place in her world now, but I LOVED it ! My book boy won 😉
