This December I am once again hosting some of my favorite bloggers here on Katie’s Book Blog. I asked them to pick a few of their favorite books from 2013 and their one most anticipated book of 2014.
Today I have Vy from Vy’s Blog!
I’m Vy, which is pronounced just like the letter “V”, and I run Vy’s Blog. I’m currently a high school student who is living in the lovely state of Oregon. I started Vy’s Blog back in 2011 shortly after I was introduced to YA books thanks to my amazing middle school librarians.
Best Debut Novel
Find Me by Romily Bernard
I am obsessed with computer hacker characters. When I found out the main character, Wick, was a hacker, I knew I had to read this. Find Me was a face paced thriller that I ended up reading in one sitting.
Best Series Finale
Champion (Legend #3) by Marie Lu
A standing ovation for Miss Lu. This was the PERFECT ending to the Legend series. Absolute perfection.
Best Start of Series
The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey
Now this was a fantastic start to a series. I’m not a huge fan of science fiction, but I absolutely loved this book. The characters were amazing and the multiple POVs was perfect for the story.
Best Standalone
Golden by Jessi Kirby
I have never connected to a character as much as I did with Parker. I’m at the stage where I have to think of what’s next after high school, and it’s a terrifying phase to be at. Golden perfectly portrayed that part of teen’s life in an absolutely relatable story.
Best Unexpected Favorite
Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass #2) by Sarah J. Maas
I have to admit that I wasn’t the biggest fan of Throne of Glass, but Crown of Midnight completely changed my opinion about the series. Everything was intensified in this book.
Best All Around
Crash Into You (Pushing the Limits #3) by Katie McGarry
I love this book SO MUCH. I will read anything by Katie McGarry. You can’t help but fall in love with all the characters of this book.
Most Anticipated 2014 Release!
Nearly Gone by Elle Cosimano
I am beyond excited for this book. A girl searching for a serial killer with a reformed bad boy undercover cop. Can this book be any more exciting?!
What do you guys think of Vy’s picks? Have you read any of them?
Make sure to check back tomorrow for the next blogger’s picks!
I know you didn’t like Find Me very much but I LOVED it! I loved the action and the characters and the voice, and I’m totally shipping the love interest and Wick 🙂
