Bloggers’ Best of 2013: Willa’s Ramblings!

This December I am once again hosting some of my favorite bloggers here on Katie’s Book Blog.  I asked them to pick a few of their favorite books from 2013 and their one most anticipated book of 2014.
Today I have Willa from Willa’s Ramblings!
(Just a brief note from Katie here: Willa is one of my best blogging buds.  She’s technically my blogging little sister.  When she started her blog I was her mentor.  I’ve gotten the chance to hang out with her in person at a few events and I adore her so if you don’t already follow her blog, get on that!)
book cover of Wild Awake by Hilary T. Smith

Best Debut Novel

Wild Awake by Hilary T. Smith

This book touched me in so many different ways. Wild Awake is one of those books that you can’t stop reading, and then when you finish it you stare at the ceiling for a little while. I can’t wait for Hilary’s next book!

book cover of Ink by Amanda Sun
Best Start of Series

Ink (Ink #1) by Amanda Sun
I was not expecting to enjoy this book nearly as much as I did, but I fell in love with this cast of characters, as well as the storyline! Amanda Sun is writing a series so unlike any other, that I’m jumping up and down in anticipation for the second one.

book cover of Monsters by Ilsa J. Bick

Best Series Finale

Monsters (Ashes #3) by Ilsa J. Bick
This series is probably my favorite of all time. I’ve been reading these books since before they came out (I got ARCs of each one) and they are basically a part of me. I cried when I finished this book, because I knew that was it for these characters, and for my journey reading about them!

book cover of Where The Stars Still Shine by Trish Doller

Best Standalone

Where The Stars Still Shine by Trish Doller

I read this book, start to finish, in one night. Trish Doller made me laugh, cry, and want to punch every single character in the course of one book, which is quite the feat in my opinion. I’m officially a Trish Doller fan now!

book cover of Reboot by Amy Tintera

Best Unexpected Favorite

Reboot by Amy Tintera
Prior to reading this book, I thought I might like it, but I ended up loving it. The world of Reboots is one that is both frightening and fascinating, and I can’t wait to see where this series goes next!

book cover of Crash Into You by Katie McGarry

Best All Around

Crash Into You (Pushing the Limits #3) by Katie McGarry
I don’t know what it is about these books that makes me fall over and die each time I finish one, but oh my freaking god this book. Katie McGarry is a literary genius in my opinion, and Crash Into You is hands down my favorite of the three books in this series. Love, love, love, love. (Review)

Most Anticipated 2014 Release!

book cover of Ruins by Dan Wells

Ruins (Partials #3) by Dan Wells
The Partials series is one of my absolute favorite dystopian novels, and so is this series. Dan Wells is an incredible writer, and I cannot wait for the third book in this trilogy!

What do you guys think of Willa’s choices?  Do you agree with any of them?  Are there any you’ve been meaning to read?

Make sure to check back tomorrow for the next blogger’s picks!

  1. I started Ashes and seriously need to finish it. I was really enjoying it so I have no idea why I put it down! Thanks for all the recommendations, I’ll definitely be picking up some of your favorites soon 🙂

  2. Katie McGarry is one of those authors who knows how to write relationships and romance and how to make characters likable but flawed!

Glad she was included on this list 🙂
