Virginity.
Bliss Edwards is about to graduate from college and still has hers. Sick of being the only virgin among her friends, she decides the best way to deal with the problem is to lose it as quickly and simply as possible-- a one-night stand. But her plan turns out to be anything but simple when she freaks out and leaves a gorgeous guy alone and naked in her bed with an excuse that no one with half-a-brain would ever believe. And as if that weren’t embarrassing enough, when she arrives for her first class of her last college semester, she recognizes her new theatre professor. She’d left him naked in her bed about 8 hours earlier.
Losing It, the first book in the Losing It trilogy, has made me a fan of Cora Carmack. Seriously, all it took was one book for me to fall in love with her writing, her characters, and her stories. This is definitely one of the best new adult books I’ve read.
By far the best thing about Losing It is the characters. Bliss and her friends are fabulous. They have strong, solid relationships. They can tell each other anything. They are there for each other no matter what. There aren’t enough relationships like theirs and I enjoyed reading about that. Bliss, though, was definitely the best. She was supremely awkward (a lot like me), funny, kind, and smart. It’s impossible not to like Bliss. Then there is Garrick. Supremely hot, British, smart, kind, funny, and anything but awkward. He and Bliss seem like an odd match but they immediately hit it off. They had quite a bit of chemistry from the very start and it only got better as the book went on.
The story was a little predictable but it was so hilarious. Bliss and Garrick meet one night at a bar and it ends up as quite an awkward situation. Things get even more awkward when Bliss finds out that Garrick is her new professor. Oops. There is no shortage of awkward situations throughout the course of the book and I honestly have not laughed so much while reading in quite some time. Even though the story was nothing spectacular, Cora Carmack did enough with it to make it interesting and captivating.
Overall, Losing It is a fabulous addition to the new adult genre and I can see why it’s been getting so many rave reviews. I look forward to continuing this series.
This sounds really good! Adding to my tbr!
I liked Losing It. It was super fun, and I did like the characters/ I don’t know if I feel like Bliss’s friends were the total best, though. I mean, her female friend (I can’t remember her name) takes Bliss out solely to lose her virginity. I felt like maybe she should have respected Bliss’s decision. But I did think their friendship was solid.
I liked Garrick a lot, although I did feel a little weird that he was her professor. Those kind of situations al leave me feeling a little weird. But, I did really like Losing It, even if it isn’t an all time favorite of mine.
I really enjoyed this book — and, like you, fell in love with her writing from the start. I haven’t read the rest of the books yet, but they are all waiting or me on my ereader. 😀
Enjoy!

Though I’m really not a fan of new adult, this one was simply perfect – loved it sooo much!
This sounds so great! I kind of love it when characters are a bit awkward (it seems more realistic), so Bliss seems like a fabulous MC!
Great review 🙂
Great review! I just started reading this yesterday and am enjoying it so far! 🙂

Random Question: how do you get your blockquotes to go behind the image like that? I’m a fellow book blogger and have to trying to figure out how to do this. Thanks!
Oh the characters were the real highlight of this novel!! And it was super funny and super cute, but in a real, relatable way, like these were people whose lives you were spying on. It was hilarious! YAY for awkward girls :))
Lovely review 🙂
