First off, thanks to everyone who has signed up for the book blogger summer reading program.  I’m really excited to host it!

My personal goal is to read 50 books from May 1 to September 1.  I know it’s probably pushing it but I’m really going to try because I’m already behind on my Goodreads goal for the year and this would help me get caught up.  If you want to keep track of what books I’m reading and what progress I’m making, you can check out my book blogger summer reading program shelf on my Goodreads page.  You can also join the Goodreads group that I created and create a challenge to help you keep track of your progress!

If you haven’t already signed up, there is still time.  Head over to the introduction post and link up your blog/Goodreads shelf!

Check out the first giveaway and good luck with your summer reading!

  1. I’m signed up! 🙂 Already finished up one book, that I’ve been listening to for a few days but finished up today. My goal for May 1 – Sept 1 is 75 books. Shouldn’t be too hard for me, if I stay away from my video games. 🙂

  2. I’m signed up–love this idea! My goal is 40. I need to finish my assigned awards committee reads & cram in as much fun reading as I can before my baby arrives at the end of August! Thanks for hosting.

  3. I love this idea! I personally set my goal for 25 books, even though I’d like to read as many as 40, because I have a ton of plans for the Summer. Thanks for coming up with such a fun idea!

  4. I signed up in the linky and my goal is to read 15 books this summer.
I’m super excited about this challenge, you’re awesome! If you have time, you should make an icon or something so people can put it on their blogs or something… if you have time. I know a book blogger’s schedule is crazy. Anyways, thanks for hosting this reading challenge!

  5. Oooh! I hadn’t heard about this, but I’m totally going to sign up now that I’ve seen this post. I’ll probably be making my sign up post and posting it this Saturday. I’m not sure how many books I should challenge myself to read, though. I think I’ll probably settle on 15? I’m a slow reader so I don’t even know if I’ll be able to meet that goal. But, who knows!? Maybe I’ll surprise myself. Great idea for this and thanks for hosting the challenge! I’m really excited about it!

  6. I’m signed up! I set myself a goal of 10 books, which isn’t a whole lot, but I’ve been in-and-out of reading slumps for the past couple months. I figured I would aim low, and then increase my goal if all goes well. I made a list of all the books that have been on my shelf since before today, so that way I can focus on those specific books for the challenge. Kicking things off with Going Bovine by Libba Bray, which has been on my shelf for AT LEAST a year and a half. Oops!

  7. I just signed up for the program today and I am behind excited. Thanks for hosting this awesome challenge! My goal is to read 35 books. I’m hoping to read even more, but we shall see. Good luck with hitting 50! I set my goal with my 2014 goodreads challenge in mind as well.

  8. I signed up! My goal is 40, even though I know I can read much more than that. Although I’m hoping to have a full-time job this summer, so I want to be safe.

  9. I am signed up and excited. My goal is small of 15 books. I am behind on my goodreads goal for 2014 too. Good luck with your summer reading challenge. 🙂

  10. My goal is to read 16 books, but I might up it latter on if I read faster! Thus far, it has been the the best reading year for me 😀

  11. Such a cute idea, Katie! I signed up yesterday and I set my goal at 15 books. It’s not a lot a lot, but I’m in a wedding over the summer and I’m planning my own so I have a feeling I’m not going to be reading as much as I’d like.

  12. I’m really excited for this! I joined the group on Goodreads to help track my progress and keep me motivated. Thanks for hosting this!

  13. My summer reading goal is also 50! I am actually ahead of schedule on my Goodreads challenge (surprisingly), but this summer is all about enjoyment for me! I’m focusing on shedding the weight I’ve gained recently, immersing myself more into my book blog and into the blogosphere, reading all the books I’ve been putting off and cleaning out my Kindle!

  14. I signed up, but haven’t posted my goal yet because I went to and Goodreads was down… :'( I have to see my visual shelf to make a goal.

  15. This is such a brilliant idea! I’ve signed up with 13 books, all of them new releases that I’m dying to read!!
Thanks for hosting this awesome challenge!

  16. I’m really excited about this event. My goal is 17 books which seems realistic for me but kudos to everyone who is doing a buttload more. Good luck everyone!

  17. I just entered. I am so excited. My reading goal is 30 books. I really hope that I am able to complete it. Thank you for hosting such an awesome event! 😀

  18. I just signed up and my goal is 25 books. A little low for me but I might have to move this summer which means putting all of my pretty books away in boxes for a little while so who knows how much reading I will get done.

    Great program!

  19. Wow, fifty books. I’m impressed. I’m going to push for 30 before September. My bookshelves and Kindle are getting ridiculously full!!

  20. I signed up. My goal is going to be 20 books. Last year I read about 15 without even trying, and I know that this year I’ll be busy. I don’t want to put TOO much pressure on myself, but I still want to read more than I did last year.

  21. I signed up too! I know I know, I am a little late to the party, but I only just found out about it! I set myself a goal of 25 books for the summer. Partly because I am really behind on review books but was afraid if I went higher I would burn myself out.

  22. I’m so excited to be participating in this challenge! I set my summer reading goal at 30 book. I’m really hoping to make it! Thanks for hosting this challenge and for the awesome giveaway!

  23. This is so cool! My goal is to read 30 books for the summer to make up for the lost reading time when I’m in the Uni. Anyway thanks for the giveaway! 🙂
