Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. For more information and a list of past and future topics, go here.
This is a really hard topic for me. I have this tendency to buy every book I ever plan on reading. That means most of the ones I want to read that I don’t own either aren’t out yet or are too expensive. I did manage to find ten though!
1. The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making (Fairyland #1) by Catherynne M. Valente – I had the chance to get a copy of this one year at ALA but it didn’t really appeal to me at the time. Then all my blogger friends started raving about it and now I’m sad I don’t have a copy.
2. Boneseeker by Brynn Chapman – I saw the cover for this one a few months ago and have wanted to read it ever since. Sadly I haven’t been able to find a copy at my local bookstore and I’m not big on ordering online so I haven’t got a copy yet.
3. Alias Hook by Lisa Jensen – Okay, who wouldn’t want to own this book? Captain Hook and a gorgeous cover? I need a copy on my shelf. Sadly I just haven’t had a ton of extra money for books lately so I haven’t picked it up.
4. The Glass Sentence (The Mapmakers Trilogy #1) by S.E. Grove – This is another one I want to own for the cover. It also sounds awesome. I love anything to do with maps so this one really intrigues me.
5. Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover – With my current obsession being new adult books, of course I want this one. Once again, this is a case of not enough money for all the books.
6. One Tiny Lie (Ten Tiny Breaths #2) by K.A. Tucker – I like to read series books consecutively but I don’t often have time to read that many books at once, especially if they aren’t review books. I got the first book in this series for review but didn’t read it until recently. Now I just need to pick up the rest of the series when I have time.
7. Sweet Filthy Boy (Wild Seasons #1) by Christina Lauren – This is totally a guilty pleasure book for me but I haven’t had the money to buy it or the time to read it lately.
8. Ready Player One by Ernest Cline – I’m attempting to expand my reading horizons and this is one book that I’ve heard great things about that’s not a genre I typically read. As soon as I have a little extra cash, I plan on picking this one up.
9. Night Film by Marisha Pessl – Once again, not a genre I typically read. Also, it’s an adult novel so it costs more. I tend to wait for the paperback version.
10. Written in my Own Heart’s Blood (Outlander #8) by Diana Gabaldon – So I’m only on book 3 right now but I really would like to have all the books in this series, especially since I”m kind of powering through them right now. Too bad it’s so expensive!
What are some books you want to read but don’t yet own? Feel free to leave links to your Top Ten Tuesday posts!
Oh, I think you’ll really like FAIRYLAND! That’s one of my favorite (recent) book series. I too need to pick up THE GLASS SENTENCE – everyone seems to love it!
Great list!
Ready Player One is a good book if you are looking to expand your reading a little. And I agree with you about Alias Hook… who wouldn’t want to own that book?
Katie! ALIAS HOOK is amazing. So, so, so good, and I think you’d love it! Surely you can spare some money for it 😉
I plan on picking up Ugly Love too! Hopefully soon 🙂 I’ve also heard a lot of praise for Ready Player One. The premise is pretty unique so I’m definitely interested.
FAIRYLAND made my list, too. I have THE GLASS SENTENCE and really want to read it. I wish I had ALIAS HOOK too, especially because THAT COVER, and I want to read BONESEEKER because it sounds super good.
I have Ugly Love on my shelf untouched cause I haven’t had to time to start yet *sniff sniff* I enjoyed One Tiny Lie, but imo not the best in the series. And oh, the Outlander series, my loves. I’m stuck on book 7 but it’s such an amazing series!
I had The Giver on my list this week which I’ve just read your fantastic review of! Alias Hook SHOULD have been on my list, I’m so excited for that book!!!!! I want to read The Girl who Circumnavigated Fairyland too!
