Since the moment our lives fell apart, the only thing that mattered was making a good life for my son. A life where he was happy and safe. I just never expected to find that safety with a hockey player known for his brutal dominance on the ice and his recklessness off it.

But Cope Colson is so much more.

The gentle way he makes sure we’re okay. The playful care he shows my son. The way he truly sees me.

When my life comes apart yet again, it’s Cope picking up the pieces. Now, we’re living in his house, eating his incredible, chef-worthy meals, and it’s not just my son who’s falling.

It’s me.

Because when Cope touches me, I lose all sense. I’m no longer thinking about staying safe, I’m thinking about how my skin ignites with every glance, how I come undone with the barest brush of his fingertips, and when we give into temptation…I’m lost.

But Cope has secrets and so do I. And when the forces from our pasts emerge from the shadows, there’s nothing they won’t do to end our happiness once and for all…

My thoughts:

Broken Harbor has taken over the top spot in the Sparrow Falls series. Cope, Sutton, and Luca stole my heart. This was the perfect blend of romance, suspense, humor, and heartbreak.

Catherine Cowles knows how to paint a picture of a town that you never want to leave. I’ve loved Sparrow Falls since book one but I felt like we got a better view of it in this book that included more of the community. I don’t know how anyone could read this and not immediately want to move to a small town in Oregon.

Cope, Sutton, and Luca may be my new favorite characters in this series. Cope was the perfect tortured hero hiding behind his role as bad boy of hockey. Sutton was a fierce mom who went after what she wanted and took no shit. She was scared due to being hurt in the past but she was so brave. Luca was just adorable in all ways and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t typically love children in books. I also can’t say I minded seeing more of Arden and I look forward to her and Linc’s story next. Other characters that I look forward to more of? Lolli and Walter. Those two need more page time. I adore them.

As for plot, this one never slowed down. I could not put this down and I never saw what was coming next. My only issue is that there was a plot twist at the end that felt unnecessary and only added for shock value. It’s a minor complaint though.

Overall, Broken Harbor is one that I highly recommend. It has renewed my love for the Sparrow Falls series and I can’t wait to pick up the next book.

TL;DR

My new favorite in the Sparrow Falls series. Cope, Sutton, and Luca are impossible not to love. Almost managed to read this one in one sitting, I was so hooked. I had a minor issue with a plot twist that felt unnecessary but otherwise completely adored this one.
