Book: The Summer Of Skinny Dipping by Amanda Howells
Release date: June 2010
Publisher: Sourcebooks Fire
Summary:
After getting dumped by her boyfriend, sixteen-year-old Mia Gordon is looking forward to spending a relaxing summer in the Hamptons with her glamorous cousins. But when she arrives, her cousins are distant, moody, and caught up with a fast crowd. Mia finds herself lonelier than ever. That’s when she meets her next-door-neighbor, Simon Ross. Simon isn’t like the snobby party boys her cousins seem obsessed with; he’s funny, artistic, and utterly adventurous. And from the very first time he encourages Mia to go skinny-dipping, she’s caught up in a current impossible to resist. Timeless in feel, The Summer of Skinny-Dipping is a poignant, literary read sure to dazzle tweens and teens alike.
Why I want to read this book now:
1-It sounds cute. It doesn’t seem like it will be a really deep book and sometimes light is just what you need.
2-It sounds summery. Right now it’s cold and gloomy outside and I could go for some fun in the sun. I guess if I can’t get it, I can at least read about it.
3-I haven’t heard anything about it yet. Sometimes that’s bad but sometimes I like reading books that I haven’t read reviews for. =]
What are you waiting on this Wednesday?
I agree; this does looks like a really cute book. Great pick! 🙂
This one sounds like a fun book! I could use a summer-themed novel too…darn winter. It’s been raining on and off all day (and it always starts as soon as I put my umbrella away!)
Awesome pick 😉
I’ve never heard of this, but it sounds great. Thanks!
Well, I WAS waiting on Captivate, but I got a call from my library today that it was in, so now I’ve got it! YAY!
This looks like a really good book, I love summer/beach reads! I’ll definitely have to check it out 🙂
