First Line Friday is a feature created by me, where I post five first lines from some books that I have on my TBR pile. You guys then get to vote, based on the first lines, for the book that I will read next!
I haven’t done a First Line Friday in ages and I decided to revamp it a little. I’m going to post the first line and nothing else. This way you pick my next read based on the first line only. I’ll reveal what book you chose next Friday when I review it. Make sense?
Also, I’m sure some of you might recognize the books but please don’t mention what they are!
First line #1:
“Dead!” a woman screamed. “It’s the dead!”
First line #2:
“Your name is Eve. Remember that.”
First line #3:
“There are exactly sixteen minutes left in math class when there’s a faint double knock on the classroom door, and we all perk up.”
First line #4:
“All my life I knew what I wanted. Or rather, what I didn’t want.”
First line #5:
“Risking my life to steal an orange was a stupid thing to do, but today of all days, I didn’t care about the consequences.”

#5 sounds like a lot fun! What book is it?
I picked number 2, and am seriously in the minority. Whatever book you pick to read next, enjoy!
I don’t recognize any of the lines, so I can’t wait to see from which books they are. I picked number 1! 🙂
As someone who places a high value on first lines, I missed this feature and I’m glad you’re bringing it back! I like the revamped version even better; the anonymity is suspenseful and the poll feature makes it easier to vote. You should also let us know what books the losing lines are from because my curiosity is eating at me.
I voted for 5, by the way, because risking one’s life for an orange sounds intense. And hilarious.
Glad you like this feature. I will be posting all the books next week, not just the one that wins. =)
I didn’t recognize any of these lines either, and they all sounded intriguing. I love the idea of this feature. I had a similar one going on, but I’ve been reading books I actually WANTED to read and didn’t need people to help me out lol
Soon, very soon, I will be reopening my votes for another round of readers choice 😉
– Krys
ooh I really like this revamped version! this way people aren’t influenced by what the book is! I picked #3 but I’m in the minority – Juhina
Line 5 is an excellent beginning to Pawn and I love the math class one too!
